Between 2008–09 and 2017–18, the victimisation rate declined for the following selected personal crime types in Queensland: total assault – 6.5% to 5.5% total threatened assault – 4.4% to 2.8% face-to-face threatened assault – 3.9% to 2.4% non face-to-face threatened assault – 1.2% to 0.7%. The victimisation rate for physical assault decreased between 2008–09 and 2013–14, but has since returned to 2008–09 levels. HOW HAVE HOUSEHOLD CRIME VICTIMISATION RATES CHANGED OVER TIME? Between 2008–09 and 2017–18, the victimisation rate declined for the following selected household crime types in Queensland: theft from a motor vehicle – 3.4% to 2.0% malicious property damage – 9.5% to 4.4% other theft – 4.4% to 2.4%. The victimisation rates for attempted break-in and malicious property damage have increased since 2015-16, although the rate for malicious property damage remains below 2008–09 levels.
